Carrie Fisher has always been brutally honest when it comes to her life and career. About Meryl Streep, who played a version of her in Fisher's semi-autobiographical novel turned film, Postcards from the Edge, Fisher said, "She plays all of us better than we play ourselves, although it's a little depressing knowing that if you went to audition to play yourself, you will lose out to her."

Show Synopsis
Carrie Fisher comes to Broadway in Wishful Drinking. Based on her popular book, Wishful Drinking is an autobiographical solo show, that traces the star's journey both as an actress and an author. Ms. Fisher candidly explores a range of her life experiences: from the success of "Star Wars", her famous marriage to Paul Simon, having Elizabeth Taylor as her step-mother, battling depression, addiction, and more. Carrie Fisher offers insight into these life experiences with an outrageous wit and humor. The show debuted at Berkeley Rep last year and has since toured across the country earning critical praise and amusing audiences at the same time.
