In this 1960s avant-garde retelling of Romeo and Juliet, two fathers build a wall between their houses to ensure their children fall in love. In this average American town, Matt and Luisa live next door to each other but due to their fathers fighting they are ordered not to speak to one another. The father scheme that because children always do what their parents forbid, their children will certainly fall in love. According to plan, the children fall in love and serenade one another over the wall. Once Matt and Luisa's love is requited it begins to get stale, the fathers see the false romance and reveal the plan and manipulation carried out all those years. Matt and Luisa part to experience the world and return with a deeper understanding of life.
