Tracy Letts' new play, Superior Donuts, is an intimate affair. Set on a cold, quiet block in uptown Chicago, the play follows Arthur (Michael McKean), the world-weary owner of a scarcely attended donut shop. Both Arthur and his shop have seen better days. Arthur's solitary existence is rocked by the arrival of a garrulous, young man, Franco Wicks (the vibrant Jon Michael Hill). Show Synopsis
Pultizer Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts (August Osage County) brings his new play Superior Donuts to Broadway. Superior Donuts tells the story of two men in a run-down donut shop in uptown Chicago. Arthur Przybyszewski owns the shop and Franco Wicks, a black teenager who is his only employee, wants to change the shop for the better. This comedy-drama explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship. This production is directed by Tina Landau.
