RACE: A 90-Minute Storm

David Mamet's newest Broadway play, "Race", takes every uncomfortable conversation on the color of a person's skin, as well as male vs female politics and weaves them into a 90 minute storm sure to make you squirm in your seat. "Race" takes place entirely in the law office of Jack (James Spader) and Henry (David Alan Grier), two successful lawyers hired to defend a wealthy white man (Richard Thomas) against the charge of raping a black woman. The legendary playwright David Mamet premiers his new play and flexes his directing skills this fall with "Race," starring Richard Thomas, Kerry Washington and James Spader. No information about the plot has yet been released, but with the brilliant Mamet writing and directing it is sure to impress critics and theatre goers alike. Race will make its world premiere at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre beginning on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 with the official opening night on Thursday, December 6, 2009.
