A formerly promising novelist, Brooke Wyeth, returns home to Palm Springs for Christmas after a six-year absence to celebrate with her family. Brooke announces that she plans to write a controversial memoir about her family because both of her parents were a part of President Reagan's inner-circle, the holiday reunion turns into a struggle as the family and Brooke try to deal with their collective past.
