The House of Blue Leaves
Show Synopsis
The revival of John Guare's The House of Blue Leaves is returning to Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre this April. Originally brought to the Broadway stage in 1987, the play centers on the Pope's 1965 visit to New York City. It follows the story of Artie Shaughnessy, a zookeeper who dreams of being a star songwriter. Brimming with an entertaining cast of characters, Artie has a schizophrenic wife called Bananas, an alluring mistress Bunny, and a son who has dreams as big as his father's. Ben Stiller is set to make his first return to Broadway since he played the role of the son Ronnie in the 1987 production of the same play, but this time will be headlining the cast as Artie. The House of Blue Leaves is directed by David Cromer, and will also star Edie Falco and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
