The Dark Knight Against Spiderman For Broadway Gold
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008Batman and Joker or Spiderman Wins?
Interesting Superhero battle for supremacy yesterday in Gotham as the huge soon-to-be hit movie The Dark Knight, which stars the late Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, and catalog of stars, went up against Spiderman The Musical for the eyes of the media and Broadway gold. In this corner, The Dark Knight (Batman) went with a full star New York premiere including Danny Devito, Josh Hartnett, Michael Caine, and Broadway’s newest catch Morgan Freeman. In that corner, “Spiderman The Musical” announced an open casting session to be held at The Knitting Factory in New York City on July 28 from 10 to 5pm. They are looking for Peter Parkers with a rock voice. While odds are The Dark Knight will win the most attention this week, in the long term he should remember that a profitable Broadway franchise earns more than a popular movie franchise, “Phantom of the Opera” has generated more revenue than the “Star Wars” series. Take that, Bruce Wayne!
