HAIR Gives Broadway Snow Day Deal
Wednesday, February 10th, 2010
BROADWAY MAGAZINE- It’s Snowtime! While school is out today for New York City schools, Broadway is in. Yesterday, it was announced that all New York City public schools would be closed today due to a coming winter snow storm which would potentially make travel dangerous.
In announcing the decision, Mayor Bloomberg suggested that not cancelling school might mean “putting our children in danger.”
Shortly after the Mayor’s announcement, the Tony Award winning Broadway musical HAIR announced that it was offering $40 tickets to students with a valid I.D. for both the 2:00 and 8:00 performances on Wednesday, February 10. We assume that the folks at HAIR only want you to come to the show if you can safely get there and not put yourself in danger.
No word about a deal for audience members who need to check their cross-country skis at the door. The Big Storm may not arrive until later in the day, so the HAIR folks may have quite a crowd.
Theatergoers can take advantage of the offer by presenting valid student I.D. in person at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre box office (302 West 45thStreet, NYC). Each student may purchase up to four discounted tickets, subject to availability. This is offer is not valid for previously purchased tickets.
