Sigourney Weaver Prayers For Bobby, Avatar Ignites Buzz

“We need to work together to dispel this ignorance…and I know Jim Cameron would want people to know about it.”


Sigourney Weaver is the star of the biggest movie of all time, Avatar, which at last count has earned nearly 3 Billion dollars at the box office, not to mention winning big at the Academy Awards last week.Lastnight in NYC, Weaver was being honored for her work in the Lifetime movie Prayers For Bobby, the movie, about a boy’s suicide because he was gay, and a mother’s grief and longing to understand how she could change for the better, won the Glaad award for Outstanding TV Movie.

Sigourney starred in Prayers For Bobby a couple of years ago, and she could have never imagined how the success of Avatar would help in getting the message out that we are all equal.

Most know Reichen Lehmkuhl as the former Air Force Pilot, and season 4 winner of The Amazing Race where he and his partner were the first gay couple to win the reality series.

We caught up with Lehmkuhl at the 2010 Glaad Awards last night in New York and talked to him about his new Off-Broadway show.

We couldn’t be more excited for Lehmkuhl as he is about to star Off-Broadway in My Big Gay Italian Wedding.

The 2010 Glaad Awards was a star studded event, and one of the stud star’s we caught up with was Ugly Betty and Off-Broadway star of The Temperamentals, Michael Urie.

Urie and cast told us how much Glaad means to them, and why they love there Off-Broadway show The Temperamentals.

The cast also told us how excited they are for Vanessa Williams and her new Broadway show Sondheim on Sondheim.

Geoffrey Fletcher made history at the 82nd annual Academy Awards by winning an Oscar for best adapted screenplay for “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire,” as the first African-American to do so.

We caught up with Fletcher at the 2010 Glaad Awards in New York lastnight.

Fletcher was pleasantly surprised when we asked him if he had thought of bringing Precious to Broadway.

Will Movie/Series Come To Broadway?

Michael Patrick King created Sex and the City and spawned a worldwide phenomenon.

We spoke with King at the 2010 Glaad Awards and asked him if he had any plans of bringing Sex and the City to Broadway.

During the awards ceremony King announced Cynthia Nixon as the 2010 recipient of the Vito Russo Award.

Nixon On Avatar Star Play


We caught up with Cynthia Nixon at the 2010 Glaad Awards in NYC lastnight.Nixon spoke with us on a number of topics, from Sex and the City 2, to her co-starring with Sigourney Weaver star of AVATAR in a play 25 years ago.

Michael Patrick King announced Nixon as the 2010 recipient of the Vito Russo Award.

Ray Charles Musical Headed To Broadway

Music Legend Remembered

This is very cool, Ray Charles is having his story come to Broadway, the musical will be titled Unchain My Heart.

Unchain My Heart will begin previews on October 8th with the official premiere on November 7th, and we are sure a star studded opening it will be!

Producer Stuart Benjamin of the 2004 movie Ray, which garnered Jamie Foxx an Oscar for his portrayal of Charles, is producing the Broadway show.

Will Foxx star on Broadway? We will have to wait and see.
