Broadway Icon Born

BROADWAY MAGAZINE- Happy birthday to Liza Minnelli, born on March 12 in 1946. Daughter of the legendary Judy Garland, Ms. Minnelli has managed to carve out a celebrated career in her own right. On Broadway, she has produced and performed in at least three concert specials, and has developed a loyal following of fans.

Last year, Liza with a Z beat out Will Ferrell to win a Tony Award for best Special Event on Broadway. Celebrate with us by marrying David Gest (or divorcing him). If you prefer, you can watch this video clip of the divine Ms. Minnelli in action below.

Weekend Broadway.tv Classics

 

While in the grocery store checkout line, you may notice Cameron Diaz is on the cover of Vogue. In the cover story, Diaz talks at length about her green and environmental initiatives.  Speaking of green, we had the chance to speak to Diaz on the red carpet of Shrek the Musical this past winter. Diaz was there to support the cast on the opening night. Diaz told us that the entire cast is “…so accomplished and so talented.” We say the same about her.If you have the chance, pick up a copy of Vogue and read the full story on Diaz. Wrapping up our Broadway.tv Weekend Classics for this week is Daniel Radcliffe. We spoke to Radcliffe almost one year ago on the 2008 TONY Red Carpet. When we spoke to Radcliffe he was about to star in the hit Broadway production of Equus after a successful run in London. We asked Radcliffe on how he prepares for a role. We are starting a new video series this weekend called “Broadway.tv Classics.” Here you will see our video interviews with Broadway related stars in its (mostly) unedited form. We kick off our series with Jane Fonda who recently finished a Broadway run in 33 Variations. We caught up with Ms. Fonda along with Dolly Parton and Lily Tomlin at the 9 to 5 opening recently.
