13 The Musical From 14 of September
This is one of the numbers everyone is buzzing about. Who is that girl with the amazing voice? Last season, Broadway offered a musical written and performed by artists in their early twenties. This season, the all-teen cast of 13 will even play the instruments. That’s right, 13 the musical has an all teen cast. The number is called “Brand New You.” The show has had some success out of town already, and heads to Broadway this fall to offer the next generation of Broadway theater-lovers a new slate of stars. Like Billy Elliot, it offers young protagonists dealing with some very real life issues. Sample the cast in action in this highlight from the 2008 Broadway on Broadway concert.

This show is packed with awesome music and lyrics created by the amazing Jason Robert Brown. I love every single second of this show. I saw it once on a recent trip to NYC and i just HAD to see it again. The cast is my age, which makes me that much more attached to this show. They are all flawless onstage, and I thank everyone involved in creating this show for giving teenage actors like us a chance like this! The show is extremely high energy throughout and can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages. Everyone can return to this troubling time in their life when “No your not ready, no it’s not time yet, no it’s not right now, wait until your older” was like a never ending echo. I give this show a VERY high rating in my book. A MUST SEE for all who venture to or live in NYC. All I have to see is “I can’t wait, I can’t wait, I can’t wait!” to see 13 again!!!

13 is the best thing ever to hit Broadway!! With breath-taking music composed by Tony award winning composer Jason Robert Brown, and a cast and band all in the age range of 13-17, you are bound to be absolutely blown away! This show is about a 12 year old boy named Evan who just moved from NYC to Appleton, Indiana and is trying to get all the cool kid to come to his bar mitzvah, but while doing so, he loses his true friend Patrice. This show is absolutely phenomenal and it is very true about what happens when you are a teenager unlike of other shows and movies. I would highly reccomend this show to anyone and everyone!!! 13 is absolutely amazing and shows everyone that a group of kids can put up an amazing broadway show!
