Gayle King Fela Broadway Opening Night Interview
“I hear it is a feast for your eyes.”
Tonight we spoke with Gayle King at the opening night of Fela! on Broadway. King says that she has been researching Fela! leading up to opening night and says that Fela! is a “…feast for your eyes.”
King says that she read The New York Times write-up on the show over the weekend and also noted Jay Z and Will Smith being behind the production. King says that she almost did not make it to the opening of Fela!, but Jay Z emailed her and told her to make sure she gets rested and comes to see the show. King says that she is excited to see Fela! as it opens peoples eyes to something that they are not use to seeing.
