Hit Broadway Show Moves To West End
After spectacular success on Broadway, the recent production of Driving Miss Daisy is moving to the West End for a limited engagement. With enough star power to serve as the engine, Driving Miss Daisy’s London production will surely continue its success. David Esbjornson directs acting legends James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines in a revival of the acclaimed 1987 play by Alfred Uhry. The play’s run on Broadway marked it as the most profitable productions of the 2010-12 season, and the draw of these actors, all Tony Award winners, will no doubt bring audiences to London’s Wydham Theatre. The play explores the unlikely friendship between an elderly Jewish widow in Atlanta and her African-American driver. Driving Miss Daisy will run from September 26 through December 17 in London.
