David Bryan Broadway Memphis Interview
Two New York Shows, “Things Are Good…”
David Bryan has been a busy guy lately. Being a founding member and keyboard player for Bon Jovi already has its own time commitments. Now Bryan also has two theatrical productions in New York that he has written - Memphis (soon to open on Broadway), and the off Broadway Production The Toxic Avenger.
We last caught up with Bryan in Bryant Park where he spoke briefly about Memphis. Yesterday Memphis had its first public performance at Broadway on Broadway. Bryan was grinning from ear to ear after the performance saying that he was excited to see the show open on Broadway.
Memphis profiles a Memphis DJ who was one of the first to ever put African-American music on the radio back in the 1950s. Before making its way to Broadway, Memphis premiered at North Shore Music Theatre and TheatreWorks both of California. The Broadway production of Memphis is choreographed by Sergio Trujillo who we interviewed about Memphis a couple months ago.
We also asked Bryan about American Idol Diana DeGarmo who is now starring in Toxic Avenger off Broadway. When we interviewed DeGarmo she told us that she was very excited to meet Bryan and was a bit giddy when she finally got the opportunity.
Watch the video above to see our full interview with Bryan.
