Broadway Impact: Sex and the City Star Cynthia Nixon Announces Engagement
Cynthia Nixon won the hearts of many playing Miranda Hobbes, (a hard line lawyer turned mother) on the hit HBO series Sex and the City. While being interviewed by New York Magazine in 2006, Nixon said that she had simply fallen in love with her partner Christine Marinoni and never felt like she had any struggle with her sexuality.
Today at the Broadway Impact rally Nixon gave a very inspiring speech and also announced that she was engaged to her long time partner. Nixon was joined at the Broadway Impact rally by New York State Governor David Paterson, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg along with TV and Broadway star David Hyde-Pierce, to name just a few. Nixon just finished starring in the off-Broadway show Distracted which closed on May 10th.
Broadway Impact was co-founded by HAIR on Broadway star Gavin Creel. The mission behind Broadway Impact is to support marriage equality. Today’s rally was to galvanize the New York State legislature to pass marriage equality legislation before the current session ends on June 20th.
