Broadway Thurgood Clerks And Sad Law Note
Thurgood Real-life Clerks With Fishburne
Some wonderful and then some sad news from the Broadway show “Thurgood” starring Laurence Fishburne. The production should be packed nightly for the performance alone. Recently the Wall Street Journal brought some real-life context to the Broadway production with the news that three of Marshall’s former law clerks visited the show, and spent time afterwards discussing Supreme Court Justice Marshall with the Broadway audience. The clerks seem in agreement that the production serves Marshall well, and at the same time is an engaging evening of theatre. Sadly, the report concludes with the information that Zelma Henderson, the last surviving plaintiff in Marshall’s most famous trial, the landmark case of Brown v. Board of Education, had passed away on Tuesday. Check out the complete article here.
