Jackson & DioGuardi Excited For Ellen

Last week we interviewed two of the four American Idol Judges. When we caught up with Randy Jackson, he said that Ellen’s addition to American Idol “was going to be hot…”Last night while at the MTV Video Music Awards, we interviewed American Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi who echoed Jackson’s excitement. DioGuardi says that Ellen is the perfect fit to fill the space that Paula Abdul left when leaving the mega-hit FOX series.

We asked DioGuardi to comment on the fact that so many American Idols (Taylor Hicks, Clay Aiken, Fantasia to name a few) have made their way to Broadway. DioGuardi says that American Idol is a great training ground for Broadway actors as it prepares them for the stage.

DioGuardi also gave advice to young singers who are looking to tryout for American Idol. Watch the video above to see what DioGuardi had to say.
