Winged Cat and Broadway

Winged Cat Carnival

Sequel For Andrew Lloyd Webber

The Labor Day weekend is about to start, and the next Montauk Monster is about to arise. We are talking of the famed Broadway Winged Cat phenomenon. With the long-running musical CATS by Andrew Lloyd Webber recently ousted from the top spot of long-runners, could it be that he might pen a sequel to the hit musical and call it Winged Cats? Though CATS had T.S. Elliot as a source, the new musical WINGED CATS could have an equally impressive source. Apparently, the great Henry David Thoreau is one of the earliest chroniclers of the winged cat. You can read all about the real winged cats here.

Broadway and off-Broadway has other flying animal creatures already. Flying monkeys in Wicked, Bat Boy in Bat Boy The Musical, and perhaps those most famous winged creatures of all Angels the name of the recently delayed, but not yet denied Broadway production based on Milton’s Paradise Lost. Sources tell us those winged cats may yet fly on Broadway after all.
