Wicked The Movie Coming Soon…in 3D?
Green Machine Heading To The Screen?
With all the buzz around Mamma Mia! The Movie, and filming on track for Daniel Day Lewis in the movie version of Nine, it seems only right that Broadway and Hollywood connections continue to be made. To that end comes word that Wicked The Musical may soon become Wicked The Musical Movie. According to reports, Marc Platt is in early discussions with Wicked producer David Stone to turn the Broadway blockbuster into a film. Platt is also working on a new film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar. No word on casting, dates, nor anything else…but very likely Wicked will soon be flying into a theater near you…we hope that it will be in 3-D (though that is not part of the plan, as far as we know). 3-D Wicked. Now, that would be something.

Thanks, Jim. The 3D idea is just our wish, not real at all (as far as we know). Just blog-dreaming, but it would be great if they would do it in 3D. Would love to learn more about MarketSaw.com too.

I have my ideas for Wicked the film… Beyonce as Elphaba and Ann Hathaway as G(a)linda
IMO.. the cast needs to be idea approapriate to the story..

I love the original cast, but they should get a whole new bunch for the movie. My suggestion…Katharine McPhee for Elphaba. She’s a singer (with the vocals to pull it off) and actress who is under appreciated coming off of American Idol, sort of like Jennifer Hudson was before she did Dreamgirls. Galinda is a hard one because there aren’t that many actresses that can pull off the difficult vocals or singers who can give a believable performance of the character.

Honestly.. There needs to be 2 Actresses in this role if the original actresses are going to be used….. Act 1 Elphie and Act 2 Elphie.. Act 1 Galinda and Act 2 Glinda
It needs to be believable..
Much like Benjamin Button… you need to use diffrent actors if your going to effectively have them at Age 19 then effectively be age 30…
However.. it would be more believable if you placed Younger actresses in the roles and then with makeup and technology u could age them its a lot harder to make people look younger on screen they usually opt to cast a younger actor to play the role or double cast the role..
