Why Mike Myers Wasn’t At The Shrek Broadway Opening
Shrek Film Voice In NYC
Tonight was the opening night of the new Dreamworks musical Shrek, based on the hit film. On hand to celebrate the new show was Cameron Diaz, the voice of Fiona in the film, a role played on Broadway by Sutton Foster. We also know that John Lithgow has been to see the show, even though he has a bit of a conflict of interest with his current Broadway role in All My Sonswith Katie Holmes. We do know Meyers was in NYC recently and took part in the Lunchbox Auction. It was a large lunchbox that he had…perhaps it was designed for Shrek. However, he was not at the opening.
At the auction, Meyers told the UK’s Metro “No, I’m not going (to the opening night). I have family in town but I hear it’s great,” he said. “I should go though, I hear it’s great.” So, maybe he’ll be at the show another night. We’ll keep you posted.
