Broadway Again Gets Presidential

BREAKING NEWS: First Lady Laura Bush has personally requested that THE LION KING cast be part of a special White House event. From the release:

Cast members from Disney’s Tony Award®-winning Broadway production of THE LION KING will perform numbers from the show at a White House State Dinner Monday, September 15. The event, for Ghana’s President John Kufuor and Mrs. Theresa Kufuor, is hosted by President and Mrs. Bush.The invitation to THE LION KING came personally from The First Lady, who saw the show during its recent sold-out Kennedy Center engagement.

No word if there are other Broadway shows that the first couple have enjoyed. Just last week President and Senator Clinton were at HAIR. Now, it’s your turn to go Broadway John McCain, Sarah Palin, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden.
