Katie Holmes Still Beating Harry Potter
Arthur Miller Revival No Fluke
Once again, the box office numbers are in and again Katie Holmes in All My Sons has beaten Daniel Radcliffe in Equus by a narrow margin. By proxy, does this mean that Tom Cruise is more popular than Harry Potter? Of course, box office doesn’t mean critical success, but after early irresponsible efforts to sabotage the revival of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons by saying it was not selling tickets were clearly way off base and flat wrong. Why was that allowed to happen? In the end, Arthur Miller may turn out to be the perfect playwright for these uncertain times. When the pillars around the world are shaking, it makes sense to hear what Arthur Miller has to say. Of course, Daniel Radciffe in Equus is great too. For the record last week : All My Sons had a box office of $665,491 and Equus had a box office of $662,213 for last week. Photo B.Bank/WireImage.com
