Jon Hamm Exclusive Video Mad Men Mamet Broadway Opening

Hit Show Cast Supports Elisabeth Moss

Much of the cast of the Emmy winning series Mad Men on AMC turned out to support the luminous Elisabeth Moss in her debut starring role on Broadway in David Mamet’s Speed-The-Plow with Entourage’s Jeremy Piven and Raul Esparza. With its stylish nod to 1950’s New York’s advertising world, Mad Men’s world view sometimes seems to echo Mamet. At the heart of the great ensemble of Mad Men is Jon Hamm who took a few minutes to talk with the Broadway.tv team on the red carpet at the Speed-The-Plow opening with long-time girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt. Hamm is hosting Saturday Night Live and was just named “Winner Of The Week” by Entertainment Weekly. Though they weren’t named “Winner of the Week,” Bryan Batt  and Vincent Kartheiser from Mad Men also have reason to celebrate. Batt’s portrayal of Salvatore Romano is a microcosm of the mix of subtle humor and drama that makes the show so original and engaging. Kartheiser’s Pete Campbell character on Mad Men has a child by Elisabeth Moss’ Peggy, and puts the “A” in Ambition. Believe us, Mad Men is worth watching. We know Mad Men will soon transform it’s critical hit status into cultural hit clout, like the Sopranos did long ago. In the meantime, it is refreshing to see that this rock solid ensemble really does support each other off-screen as well. Elisabeth Moss is playing the role Madonna first played on Broadway. After reading the positive critical notices for her work in Speed-The-Plow, people are now saying “Madonna who?” Check out more with Elisabeth Moss in our features section. Also, Mad Men season two finale is on Sunday night. Check the reviews of Speed-The-Plow right here.
