Harry Potter Star Trek Stars Collide On Broadway News
Big Star Production Just Got Star Trek-y
When news that Daniel Radcliffe would bring his performance in Equus to Broadway from London, it caused a great sensation. Radcliffe earned some solid rave reviews in a challenging atmosphere, playing a role that is almost the anti-Harry Potter. No magic there, just a sharp knife and some dead horses. Well, news now that Kate Mulgrew will join Radcliffe and the estimable Richard Griffiths in the revival of Equus on Broadway this fall. Mulgrew has a Star Trek legacy playing Captain Kathryn Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager. Celeb status aside, Mulgrew has rock solid theatre credentials, and has recently headlined Greek-themed readings and productions including Agamemnon and the celebrated Iphigenia 2.0. The Greek tragic themes may actually tie her even more closely to the production. While this show may not have needed more star power, with Mulgrew a strong production certainly just got stronger.

WOW! Two of my all-time favorite actors on Broadway (a great love of mine)! Now this is my idea of HEAVEN! I can’t wait to tell my husband - also a fan of Harry Potter/Daniel Radcliffe & Star Trek: Voyager/Kate Mulgrew - but who has never seen a Broadway show. THIS is what I’m asking for for my birthday this year! (My birthday is Dec. 25th, so a bit early is good!) What GREAT NEWS!
