This Is The Dawning of the Age…
The new revival of HAIR playing in Central Park just heard the buzz of a Broadway transfer in its ear. That buzz is specifically a loving review from New York Times’ critic Ben Brantley, whose fume-inspired opening paragraph highlights both the show’s aura and Brantley’s Olympic Level Turn-of-Phrase. With product sponsorship and a big Broadway run more than likely, it looks like the anti-Establishment musical is about to become a successful franchise too.
