Ernest Borgnine’s Marital Relations With Ethel Merman

He is 91, and still acting. Ernest Borgnine is out and about promoting his new memoir “Ernie: The Autobiography.” In addition to his many accomplishments as an actor, including an Academy Award, he has a unique tie or two to Broadway’s Legendary actresses. On the mild side, he made his Broadway debut with Helen Hayes in 1953 in “Mrs. McThing.” On the wild side, he had a famous 32 day marriage (before the days of Britney Spears) to Ethel Merman. It wasn’t a long marriage, but it had its charms. Merman dealt with the subject in her memoir by devoting a single blank page to it.
On the wildest side, we turn to the Boston Herald’s Katy Jordan who describes a quite recent interview with Borgnine on Fox:
“Actor and funny man Ernest Borgnine made headlines once again this week when the 91-year-old Academy Award-winner shared his secret to longevity with Fox News:
“I masturbate a lot,” the gapped-tooth star unabashedly told his host, loud enough for the nation to hear.”
We respond with a single blank page. Happy 91st, Mr. Borgnine.

Borgnine rules. Laser Mission wouldn’t have been the same without him. Also, who’s 91 and can go to town on themselves like that? Whatta champ!

What a nice man … this Ernest Borgnine. Only met him once on the set of “Ice Station Zebra” on the old MGM lot. A few of us actors were walking back to the stage after lunch when Ernie drove bye, he stopped and said “come on hop in, no use walking when you can ride.” We took him up on it, and enjoyed every minute of his company. The same day, between set ups, Ernie was practicing his golf swing and hit one of the crew members with his club. I never have seen a person more apologetic, the man almost had tears in his eyes, we could feel his pain for what he had done.
NOTE: to Ben Kirkman … Ernie’s not old … he is OLDER!!! big differance.
