Actors’ Union Sides With Jeremy Piven – Chicago, Anyone?

Speed-The-Plow Star Gets Break

BROADWAY MAGAZINE – Yesterday, Jeremy Piven was given a break by the Actors’ Equity Association. According to a statement by the union, an arbitrator ruled that Jeremy Sushi Piven “did not breach his individual employment contract nor did he breach the Equity-League collective bargaining contract.” Hmmm. Well, according to The New York Times, Mr. Piven was elated saying:

“I’m just a theater actor who got sick, and was physically incapable of finishing my run. And now I can put this behind me and move on…now I can climb back on the stage and know that I’m strong and able to complete the mission.”

So, which production will bring Mr. Piven back to Broadway? Our money says that he’ll come back for three weeks as Billy Flynn in Chicago The Musical. Give ‘em the old razzle-dazzle, Jeremy. Would anyone want to see him back on Broadway? The publicity may be too much to pass up.
