Uber Playwright David Mamet Reveals RACE Plot Line, Obama as Muse?
Broadway RACE Drama Premieres December 6th

David Mamet has finally exposed details of his new Broadway play RACE to the New York Times and it’s all about lies.
On RACE Mamet explains, “In my play a firm made up of three lawyers, two black and one white, is offered the chance to defend a white man charged with a crime against a black young woman. It is a play about lies…All drama is about lies. When the lie is exposed, the play is over.”
Mamet goes into further detail relating President Obama, and African American’s and Jews struggles, to his new play RACE, he says, “My current play, Race, is intended to be an addition to that dialogue…As a Jew, I will relate that there is nothing a non-Jew can say to a Jew on the subject of Jewishness that is not patronizing, upsetting or simply wrong. I assume that the same holds true among African-Americans.”
Starring in RACE are actors James Spader, David Alan Grier, the AMAZING Kerry Washington and Richard Thomas. With the current climate in America this play’s delicate subject matter, it will be interesting to see what the audience reaction is.
