Jude Law Now Officially Broadway’s New Hamlet
Shakespeare Play is Broadway’s Must-Have Ticket
BROADWAY MAGAZINE – Tonight, Jude Law started previews of Hamlet on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre (the official opening is in October). The production was first seen at the Donmar Warehouse in London and has quickly become one of the hottest selling tickets on Broadway. According to the Internet Broadway Database’s count, Mr. Law is the 66th Hamlet on Broadway.
However, the Internet Broadway Database lists only three 19th Century productions of the play –completely neglecting titans like Edmund Kean, Edwin Forrest, William Charles Macready, Charles Fechter (Charles Dicken’s favorite actor) and many other famous actors of the past who have played the role in New York. So, congratulations to the cast and crew of Broadway’s newest Hamlet and best of luck on your limited 12 week run. Check out the new Broadway Magazine featuring Jude Law as Hamlet and many other shows right here.
If you saw the production tonight…what did you think?
