Bea Arthur Remembered: Broadway’s Golden Girl For Life
Rue McClanahan, Angela Lansbury, Rosie O’Donnel, Tyne Daly, And Sons Remember Bea Arthur



To some it might seem like just yesterday, sitting around the TV, watching and laughing as The Golden Girls stole audiences hearts.
Earlier this year Bea Arthur whom many knew as Maude from the TV show “Maude,” and Dorothy from “The Golden Girls” passed away.
Yesterday, September 14th, a memorial was held in Bea’s honor at the Majestic Theatre.
Angela Lansbury, host of the tribute, began by singingĀ “The Man in the Moon” a song from the Broadway musical Mame which Arthur starred in 1966, she won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as Vera Charles.
Rosie O’Donnell and Tyne Daly also paid tribute to Arthur alongside, Rue McClanahan, who starred with Arthur in “Maude” and “The Golden Girls,” Arthur’s son’s Matt and Daniels Saks also remembered their great mom.
