“Arcadia” Comes to Ethel Barrymore Theatre
Limited Engagement Starting Feb. 25.
Tom Stoddard’s masterpiece Arcadia is set to come to Broadway in the Ethel Barrymore Theatre for previews beginning February 25th, 2011, and an official opening set for March 17, 2011. After a successful run in the West End, the play will run on Broadway through June 19th.
Set in 1809 in a stately Derbyshire home, Arcadia features a gifted student, Thomasina, who proposes an alarming theory, beyond even her own comprehension about the adults surrounding her who are wrapped up in illicit affairs. More than 200 years later, academic foes, Hannah and Bernard, find themselves wound up in finding out about the old theory.
The production will be directed by David Leveaux and will star Margaret Colin, Billy Crudup, Raul Esparza, Glenn Fleshler, Grace Gummer, Edward James Hyland, Byron Jennings, Bel Powley, Tom Riley, Noah Robbins, David Turner, and Lia Williams.
